Representatives of eight centers of the Global Network of Regional Sustainable Energy Centers (GN-SEC) had the opportunity to speak at the ECOWAS Sustainable Energy Forum (ESEF), which took place from 22 to 24 October 2019, at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra, Ghana.


October 22, 2019, Port Vila. The Barrier Removal for Achieving the National Energy Road Map Targets of Vanuatu (BRANTV) project has officially launched the train-the-trainers’ workshop for solar photovoltaic (PV) technicians in Vanuatu.

The workshop is conducted in close collaboration with the Pacific Vocational Training Centre (PVTC).

The ‘Level 4 Certification’ training workshop is being resourced by trainers from the Sustainable Energy Industry Association for the Pacific Islands (SEIAPI).


SEOUL – October 15, 2019 – The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) today launched a new platform, Powering Pacific Green Growth, to share knowledge and raise visibility about the steps and successes countries in the Pacific region are making to achieve Paris Agreement commitments and SDGs through the application and scale-up of clean, sustainable energy sources.

10th October, 2019 Tonga is one of the six Small Island Developing States (SIDS) that will benefit from a UK-based Institute for Environmental Analytics (IEA) programme called Renewable Energy Analytics Platform (RE-SAT). The programme aims to use earth observations and other sources of data to support SIDS in their journey towards renewable energy.

The CEO for MEIDECC Mr Paula Ma’u, today, opened the first RE-SAT workshop for representatives from relevant government ministries at the Department of Energy Conference Room.
