Various experts of the Global Network of Regional Sustainable Energy Centres (GN-SEC) are joining the sessions and side events of the Vienna Energy Forum (VEF), which will take place from 5 to 7 July 2021 in virtual form.

The event is guided by the motto, "Where Action Meets Ambition," and identifies action-oriented steps required to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, forging an inclusive pathway that leaves no one behind and achieving net zero emissions by 2050.


The Secretary of Samoa’s National Energy Coordination Committee and Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of Finance,  Leasiosiofaásisina Oscar Malielegaoi,  opened Samoa’s Sustainable Energy Awareness Programme at the TATTE Conference Room, Apia on 24th June 2021.

In a historic meeting on 3 June 2021, in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo, the eleven Ministers of Energy of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) approved a Renewable Energy Roadmap and the creation of the Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency for Central Africa (CEREEAC) as a specialised institution. During the meeting, the Ministers accepted the kind offer of Angola to host the centre in Luanda.
