PRDR SE4ALL steering committee meeting minutes 3

The Meeting:

i).      Endorsed the minutes of SC 2

ii).    Noted that in response to the PRDR funding proposal and subsequent separate discussions between SPC and Tonga with the World Bank, the Bank has drafted an internal TA concept paper to identify where the Bank can best add value to the PRDR development, including assessing the best modality for channelling their funds to the PRDR.

iii).  Agreed in principle to the WB’s support to the PRDR subject to the comments by members on the TA concept paper. Tonga will seek the approval of the WB to circulate the draft concept paper for comments by members.   

iv).  Welcomed with appreciation the support of the Russian Government for the PRDR SE4ALL initiative, tentatively planned for three national workshops at PNG, Solomon Islands and Nauru.

v).    Noted the logistical challenges associated with the planned side event at the 45th Pacific Islands Forum meeting in Palau and agreed to cancel the event.

vi).  Noted the completion of the final draft of the PRDR Pull up Banner and Brochure for the SIDS Conference side event and invited members for any last minute comments on both.

vii). Noted that the PRDR side event [Sustainable Energy for All (SE4ALL): Re-Energising the Pacific] with the Tonga government as the lead organiser will be held at the same time with another energy-related   side event s [Tonga Energy Roadmap Experiences] with the TERM as the lead organiser and requested Tonga to follow-up on the possibility of combining the TERM Event with the SE4ALL Event given the need to attract and invite high level delegates to the PRDR event.
