The Pacific Community (SPC) requested technical assistance from the Canadian Trade and Investment Facility (CTIF) to relaunch the Pacific Energy and Gender (PEG) Network whose objective is to increase women's engagement as entrepreneurs and professionals in the clean energy employment market. There are 2 components to the publication:
Gender-Based Assessment - Part 1: Energy Sector Analysis
This report presents the main findings from both a literature review and the field mission, along with analyses on the status of gender equality and the clean energy sector in each of the six targeted PICs. It also underlines the challenges related to women's inclusion in the clean energy value chain and outlines recommendations on priority actions and main entry points in the chain.
PEG Strategic Action Plan - Final
The main objective of the PEGSAP is to increase women's participation in the clean energy employment market as entrepreneurs, tradespeople and professionals. Econoler, in collaboration with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Oceania Regional Officer (ORO) was mandated to provide consulting services to SPC. The PEGSAP 2020-2030 uses the findings from the GBA report to propose a detailed strategy and action plan to establish and implement the second phase of PEG Network.
