Feasibility Study of Establishing OTEC : Marshall Islands are keen to develop alternative energy sources. Potential developers are kept informed on the region's potential through contributions to the International OTEC/DOWA Association Newsletter. Assistance was given to Marshall Islands to help them select a contractor to carry out a detailed feasibility study of establishing a OTEC power and fresh water plant on Majuro. The study was to coordinate international developments in OTEC technology and in order to inform Marshall Islands of their resource potential, and possible developers of the region's OTEC prospects. Studies commenced in early 1993 and conclude late in 1993.
