 As the Pacific Islands gear up to the end of the year climate negotiations, the topic of reducing fossil fuel dependence and greenhouse gas emissions in the land transport sector was discussed at a regional workshop on electric vehicles (EV) standards in Auckland, NZ on 14 – 18 October 2024.

From June 12-14, 2024, the Commission of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) convened the second project steering committee meeting at the Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency of Central Africa (CEREEAC) in Luanda, Angola. This gathering, the second of the CEREEAC's Governing Bodies, aimed to propel the region's renewable energy initiatives forward.

Barely a month has passed since Small Island Developing States convened at Antigua and Bermuda to discuss their sustainable development challenges, the power utility at Rarotonga (Te Aponga Uira - TAU) and the Pacific Community’s Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (PCREEE) are already walking the talk in accelerating the decarbonisation of the transport sector of the Cook Islands.
