The national energy policy of the Federated States of Micronesia [DRAFT]

National Energy and Policy Development_FSM : The World Bank Pacific Regional Energy Assessment report of 1992 identified the absence of comprehensive national energy sector policies as one of the major obstacles to the effective management and planning of the national energy sectors. In a place like FSM where the individual states are autonomous, national policies are critical to ensure consistency and concerted efforts are directed towards common national objectives. In 2000 SOPAC provided assistance in the development of a draft Energy Policy and plan. In 2002 FSM requested assisitance in the review of the original energy plan as well and looking at the RE situation in the
outer islands.
